The session of the Lord opens up opportunity for the church, part 2 John 13:33; Heb 10

Class Outline:

/John 13:33 "Little children [students under training and discipline], I am with you a little while longer. You shall seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, I now say to you also, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.' \

/The Lord’s strategic victory opens the opportunity for our tactical victory as a church.\

HEB 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come [mystery doctrine, body of Christ] and not the very form of things, can never by the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

HEB 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?

HEB 10:3But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.

HEB 10:4For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

HEB 10:5Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,

"Sacrifice and offering Thou hast not desired,

But a body Thou hast prepared for Me [first christocentric dispensation];

HEB 10:6In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast taken no pleasure.

They were but a shadow of the true sacrifice of the Lord on the cross.

HEB 10:7"Then I said, 'Behold, I have come

(In the roll of the book it is written of Me) [OT prophecy]

To do Thy will, O God.'"

HEB 10:8After saying above, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast not desired, nor hast Thou taken pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the Law),

HEB 10:9then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Thy will." He takes away the first [ritual plan of God] in order to establish the second. [protocol plan of God]

HEB 10:10By this will we have been sanctified [set apart as holy] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

HEB 10:11And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

HEB 10:12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, [there is His victory]

HEB 10:13waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.[close of human history]

After the session of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the result of His strategic victory in the AC, truths are given that will provide the power for the church to achieve its tactical victory.

HEB 10:14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

/ 1. Through the cross every believer has been sanctified, making him holy and blameless in the eyes of God.\

HEB 10:15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us [indwelling of the HS]; for after saying,

/ 2. Unique to the Church-age believer, God the Holy Spirit indwells his body so that He may be his true teacher and mentor.\

Therefore, every believer has 100 % of the spiritual IQ needed to come to a full understanding of all doctrines. Your human IQ and level of education are inconsequential. You receive personal revelation from God the HS.

/1 Cor 2:10

For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.\

HEB 10:16"This is the covenant that I will make with them

After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart,

And upon their mind I will write them,"

He then says,

/ 3. At the baptism of the Spirit each believer is imputed with a human spirit which makes the process of doctrinal metabolism possible. Doctrine can be stored in the heart of every believer.\

HEB 10:17"And their sins and their lawless deeds

I will remember no more."

/ 4. The believer’s relationship with God cannot be hindered by sin if he utilizes the rebound technique.\

/1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; \

/1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. \

/1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. \

/1 John 1:9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. \

HEB 10:18Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

/ 5. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Penance, guilt, empty promises are all a waste of time.\

Therefore a sinner can glorify God in the AC. A flawed and fallen human being can be a winner in the AC. The body of Christ, though made up of sinners, can overcome the satan and the kod, the world system, and the OSN.

However, he cannot do this alone. As a member of the body of Christ he needs the other members of the body for final victory.

He needs a PT for his own spiritual growth as a believer priest. He does not rely on others for personal spiritual growth. He relies on the information given by his PT. However, for complete victory he must be a member of the body and must lock shields with other members of the body in his local assembly.

Now that the victory of Christ has been established in this passage, and the confidence of our forgiveness and the teaching ministry of God the Holy Spirit, the next step is your momentum in doctrine.

HEB 10:19Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, [you do this in prayer, but you also do this when you are taking in doctrine]

/ 6. The believer has the privilege of approaching the throne of grace for the perception of doctrine so that his thinking may be transformed into the thinking of Christ.\

This is possible because the substitutionary spiritual death of our Lord tore the veil that limited the access of man to the person of God. Now, through Jesus Christ, we have full access to the throne of grace.

HEB 10:20by a new and living way [no longer the deadness of the letter of the law, but by the mystery doctrine which is alive and powerful] which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,

This is a very important principle so that you may know how important it is to take in doctrine on a daily basis. Do you want a personal relationship with the Lord by which, even though He sits at the right hand of God, you may have comfort and peace just as if He is forever sitting with you, every day?

Do you understand that through fellowship with our Lord you stand in the holy of holies every day?

In the OT the high priest was the only one who could enter and he could only enter one day out of the year and that was to perform a ritual and not to converse with God.

We live in the dispensation of personal relationship to God.

/As Christ sits at the right hand of God and believers remain on this earth as the body of Christ it becomes imperative that we enter the holy place of God which we do when we fill our souls with the word of God. \

The word transforms us because it is alive. It is a living being, unlike any other form of knowledge on this earth.

Hold your place here and turn back to HEB 4:9. Let’s look at the context of this passage as well.

HEB 4:9 There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

This is not a reference to the Sabbath of Israel that was on the last day of the week, but this is the rest that belongs to Christ as He sits at the right hand of God, and therefore it is a daily rest.

This verse states that the end of the nation of Israel under the fifth cycle of discipline in 70 A.D. did not bring an end to God’s Sabbath, but instead it remained for the Church in more completeness as is fitting for the finished work.

This rest is a daily rest of the victorious who enjoy the spoils of Christ’s victory. Therefore, this is a rest reserved for the body of Christ.

/John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.\

HEB 4:10For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

There are no systems in life other than the PPOG that offer daily rest by means of grace.

In all other systems, either religious or secular, the creature is given the demands of work, which when completed, he may find rest.

It’s kind of like retirement. Many people work and work to save up retirement money, which smart financial people reap the spoils of, and finally when they have worked to the point of exhaustion they retire when the body is old and weak.

God offers an early retirement plan. The investment is not your human works but your time in learning the doctrines of the PPOG for the church. This investment rewards the believer with the compound interest of rest, peace, and sharing the happiness of God.

HEB 4:11Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through following the same example of disobedience.

The example in context is the Exodus generation who refused to believe the promises of God.

The writer uses the word diligent to highlight the importance of this rest. It is found in no other place.

Rest can be promised, but if it is not delivered by the one promised then there is no benefit.

God promises this rest through the inculcation of doctrine, which is much more than just knowledge or information, it is a living, breathing, organism.

HEB 4:12For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The infection of the word of God is like a living parasite unlike any other. It doesn’t harm the host, but transforms the host into a masterpiece from God.

God can see the proper changes in thinking or lack of. So you may be fooling others into thinking you are spiritually mature, but you will never fool God.
