The session of the Lord opens up opportunity for the church, part 1. John 13:33; Heb 10

John 13:33 "Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You shall seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, I now say to you also, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'

/“Little children” – the vocative of teknion.[teknion] This means to be under training and discipline. They have a lot of discipline and training ahead of them as we all do.\

“I am with you a little while longer,” refers to the next few hours, but also another 40 days after the resurrection.

After the ascension of our Lord the disciples will continue to seek for that comfort that the Lord provided by means of His love during His earthly ministry and while that love will be given through the word and the Spirit in abundance, they will seek for the familiar source that was the humanity of Christ.

/This will be a repeated pattern in every believer’s life. There will be certain places or people that provide us comfort for a certain period of time, which will be taken away.\

And while new and greater sources of comfort will be provided through the Father’s plan we will seek for the old sources due to their familiarity, but we will not find them.

/By remaining positive towards the word of God and the plan of God, as the disciples were, we will eventually be brought face to face with the new source of comfort.\

If the Lord doesn’t leave then the disciples would have never seen the source of comfort that comes from the Spirit and the mystery doctrine.

/The plan of the Father was to remove the Son of Man from the earth after His strategic victory and to establish His church to glorify Him in tactical victory of the Angelic Conflict.\

/The church is the body of Christ which is forever linked to the Head, which is Christ. The Head provides the wisdom to the body through the Word.\

/Ps 110:1

The Lord says to my Lord:

"Sit at My right hand,

Until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet." \

/Isa 66:1

Thus says the Lord,

"Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool.

Where then is a house you could build for Me?

And where is a place that I may rest? \

God doesn’t need a temple so that He may rest on the earth. The earth is His footstool while He sits in His throne in heaven.

Therefore, the temple was not for God but for man. The Levitical priesthood was given so that the sacrifices and rituals could be carried out by men trained to follow the protocol that the Justice of God demanded. The sacrifices were for the people of Israel so that they could visually learn the redemption of man. The rituals were given so that they could learn about the person of Christ. The building itself was a visual aid to the power of God and His work on behalf of man. The Holy of Holies with the ark was again for teaching about the Lord, this time in hypostatic union, and for teaching the Justice and Righteousness of God. The pillar of fire that ascended above the Holy of Holies was there to assure Israel that God had not forsaken them. The rising smoke from the sacrifice was teaching the doctrine of propitiation, that God was satisfied with the sacrifice of His Son. God didn’t need any of these things, but man did.

Now that Christ is seated at the right hand of God, no longer is there a temple building, but rather God has designed the church age temple to be the body of the born again believer.

1 Cor 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

1 Cor 6:13 Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food; but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord is for the body.

1 Cor 6:14Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.

1 Cor 6:15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? May it never be!

1 Cor 6:16Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a harlot is one body with her? For He says, "The two will become one flesh."

1 Cor 6:17But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

1 Cor 6:18Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

1 Cor 6:19Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

1 Cor 6:20For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

In the same way, the temple that is the body of the church age believer is not for the comfort of God but for your comfort.

Though Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of God and we bear the burden of His absence, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit indwell our body which is the holy temple of God.

/The indwelling of the Trinity in the body of the believer is for his comfort and reassurance.\

/The indwelling of the Father is the guarantee of escrow blessings. The indwelling of the Son is the guarantee of royalty. The indwelling of the HS is the guarantee of power.\

The Trinity does not indwell us for their own comfort or so they can operate on earth. They indwell us so that we my find comfort, live under the protocol of royalty and receive power, therefore this is for our comfort and blessing.

As I said, when one comfort is taken away, in our passage this reference is the earthly ministry of the Lord, a greater comfort is provided.

/With this comfort and power the church is called upon or elected to glorify Christ through its tactical victory in the angelic conflict while the Strategic Victor relaxes at the right hand of God.\

Turn to Heb 10 and notice how His strategic victory is related to our tactical victory as a church. Hopefully you will come to understand the importance of our endeavor in this ministry.

Heb 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never by the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

/The temple building was a shadow of the temple of the believer. The Mosaic Law was a shadow of the mystery doctrine and the love of Christ.\

Heb 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?

Heb 10:3But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.

Heb 10:4For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Heb 10:5Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,

"Sacrifice and offering Thou hast not desired,

But a body Thou hast prepared for Me;

This is the introduction of the first Christocentric dispensation where God the Son will indwell a body. The Church is the body of Christ and in the genius and grace of God, Christ will indwell every CA believer.

Heb 10:6In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast taken no pleasure.

They were but a shadow of the true sacrifice of the Lord on the cross.

Heb 10:7"Then I said, 'Behold, I have come

(In the roll of the book it is written of Me) [OT prophecy]

To do Thy will, O God.'"

Heb 10:8After saying above, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast not desired, nor hast Thou taken pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the Law),

Heb 10:9then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Thy will." He takes away the first [ritual plan of God] in order to establish the second. [protocol plan of God]

Heb 10:10By this will we have been sanctified [set apart as holy] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Heb 10:11And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

Heb 10:12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, [there is His victory]

Heb 10:13waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.[close of human history]

Heb 10:14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

Heb 10:15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us [indwelling of the HS]; for after saying,

Heb 10:16"This is the covenant that I will make with them

After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart,

And upon their mind I will write them,"

He then says,

Heb 10:17"And their sins and their lawless deeds

I will remember no more."

Heb 10:18Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.

/The Holy Spirit bears witness to us while He indwells us that we are completely forgiven. Anything apart from rebound is a waste of time (guilt, penance, promises).\

Therefore a sinner can glorify God in the AC. A flawed and fallen human being can be a winner in the AC. The body of Christ, though made up of sinners, can overcome the satan and the kod, the world system, and the OSN.

However, he cannot do this alone. As a member of the body of Christ he needs the other members of the body for final victory.

He needs a PT for his own spiritual growth as a believer priest. He does not rely on others for personal spiritual growth. He relies on the information given by his PT. However, for complete victory he must be a member of the body and must lock shields with other members of the body in his local assembly.
